Representative George Cushingberry Jr. received MLA's William P. Faust Legislator of the Year Award at the 2009 Public Policy Summit. Representative Cushingberry is an avid reader, historian and library patron of the Detroit Public Library. As chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, he fought for library funding and to keep the Library of Michigan whole within state government in 2009. |
